The Natura 2000 Day on 21 May 2015 will be celebrated also in Riga, the capital of Latvia. At the Botanical Garden of the University of Latvia, the LIFE project Wetlands team will install an improvised mire trail. Every visitor will have an opportunity to put himself in a place of real mire researcher and using all balance skills cross the mire trail dressed in rubber boots and rain coat. Everyone will achieve more information about safe moving through natural raised bogs, get introduction about nature conservation, importance of rare plant species and protected habitats, and watch mire plants under stereo-microscope. The event will be hold together with the Plant Conservation Day which is celebrated each May at the Botanical Garden and attracts more than 1000 schoolchildren every year.
