We are inviting the public to a special event to launch the display of live stone-curlew nest camera footage on Bank Holiday Monday, 25 May, at High Lodge Forest Centre near Thetford.
A day crammed with free family activities, talks, guided walks and more!
Morning session (booking required):
11:00am-12:00pm talks by project partners
12:00am-1:00pm Guided walk in the forest
1:00pm- 2:00pm buffet lunch
Afternoon activities (booking not needed):
From 1:00pm-4:00pm the following activities will be running at our stand outside the Cafe.
Bird ringing with the Thetford Forest Ringing Group
Nature detective trail
Live nest camera footage
‘Build a nest’ bush crafts
Free but site entry applies
The stone-curlew footage is being captured at Norfolk Wildilfe Trust's Weeting Heath and is being streamed to various locations around the Breckland SPA Natura 2000 site, making this the ideal opportunity to celebrate the Natura 2000 network, and joint conservation projects which aim to help secure the future of these special places and the enigmatic wildlife they support.
